ATWOOD – Richard M. "Rick" Wierman, 72, of Atwood passed away at 3 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 5, 2017) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East U.S. 36, Atwood, with the Rev. Mike Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Mackville Cemetery, Atwood.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with Masonic Services at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rick was born on Feb. 14, 1945, at Atwood, the son of Ramon P. and Patricia Landgrebe Wierman.
Survivors include his significant other, Candace Chandler; daughters, Tricia (Chris) Cravens of Monticello, Trina (Gary Jones) Wierman and Mona (Brian) Poling, both of Atwood; grandchildren, Tara Juzeszyn, Ben Cravens, Tyler Cravens, Bryant, Kimi and Michael Poling; great-grandchildren, Avery Juzeszyn and Bryce Poling; brothers, Ramie (Kathy) Wierman, Kim (Stephanie) Wierman and Kyle (Lisa) Wierman, all of Atwood; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick was a retired laborer and business agent for Local 573.
He was a member of the Atwood Masonic Lodge 651, AF & AM for 48 years. He was also a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge, Mattoon Eagles Club and Sons of the American Legion.
Rick was an animal lover and he enjoyed gardening.
