DANVILLE – Bobby Pierce, 81, of Danville passed away on Wednesday (April 26, 2017) in Marysville, Kan.
He was born on April 29, 1935, the son of Lu and Willie Ola Pierce.
On Aug. 23, 1964, he married his wife of 53 years, Diana Creviston; she survives.
Bobby will be dearly missed by his sons, Robert (Lisa) Pierce and Michael (Dorrie) Pierce; daughter, Tina (Dave) Lindsley; brother, Louie (Joyce) Garrison; sister, Virginia (Dick) Thompson; grandchildren, Nick (Mindy), Chris (Melissa), Jessica, John (Amber), Eric, Shelby and Kenny (Kala); great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Owen, Grace Lynn, Colin, Landon, Mattie, Breadon and Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eva Nell Pierce.
Bob loved going fishing, camping and sitting around the campfire. He enjoyed rooting for the Cardinals and was also an Illini fan. Bob spent his retirement driving a Pilot car across the country.
He was a member of the Catlin Masonic Lodge, receiving his 50-year pin last year. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, please make donations in Bob's name to the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Park.
