MONTICELLO – Charles Scott Johnson, 95, of Monticello passed away at 3:40 a.m. Saturday (March 25, 2017) at Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.
Scotty was born on Aug. 26, 1921, in Lovington, the son of William Peter and Goldia A. (Murphy) Johnson. He married Marjorie D. Davidson on June 4, 1949, in Cerro Gordo. She passed away on Feb. 23, 1991.
Scotty is survived by four nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother.
Scotty was the Piatt County circuit clerk for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, the Monticello Masonic Lodge No. 58 AF&AM, and a 32 Degree Mason. Scotty loved the Chicago Cubs and he enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and stamp collecting along with being an avid woodworker.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the Cerro Gordo Township Cemetery, Cerro Gordo. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello, is handling the arrangements.
