BEMENT – Robert D. Clark, 82, of Bement passed away at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday (July 28, 2015) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the Bement United Methodist Church, 249 N. Piatt St., Bement. Masonic services will be at 7:45 p.m. by the Bement Masonic Lodge 365 A.F.&A.M.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, also at the Bement United Methodist Church. Pastor Jeremy Lafary will officiate. Burial with military honors by the Albert Parker American Legion Post 620 will be in the Bement Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Bement Masonic Lodge or the Bement United Methodist Church.
Bob was born on Aug. 7, 1932, in Hammond, a son of George and Ora Emma Haynes Clark. He married Virginia Ann Heckman and she survives of Bement.
Also surviving are three sons, Mark Clark of Monticello, John (Becky) Clark of Monticello and Dave Clark of Bement; nine grandchildren, Jordan, Mitchel and Michael Clark, Lindsey (Derek) Conner, Tracy (Kris) Ehler, Becky Headley, Lisa (Brian) Arnold, Monica Naegle and Sara Naegle; as well as four great-grandchildren, David Durbin, Peyton Scott, Blakely and Brecken Conner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Susan and Sandra; and two brothers, Duane and Ralph Clark.
Bob was a Navy veteran, a 60-year member of the Bement Masonic Lodge as well as secretary for 28 years, and Bement Chapter No. 65, Gill W. Barnard Comm., at Sullivan.
He was a board member of the Voorhies and Bement Grain Co., R.E.A. director of Electric Coop, and trustee and board member of the Piatt County Housing Authority. Bob was also a 60-year member of the Albert Parker American Legion of Bement.
