GIBSON CITY – Kenneth E. Curtis, 75, of Gibson City died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 5, 2015) at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City.
His funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at First Baptist Church in Gibson City, with Pastor Dennis Norton officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. A Masonic service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, followed by visitation at 2 p.m. until time of service.
Mr. Curtis was born on May 23, 1940, in Gibson City, a son of Evan and Beulah Wanda (Mulvany) Curtis. He married Jacqueline D. Arnold on March 24, 1968, in Gibson City and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Robin (Michael) Shaver of Spring Valley, Ill.; two sons, Tim (Natacha) Smith and Chris (Laura) Smith, both of Nashville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ken was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Gibson City Masonic Lodge 733 AF&AM.
He was a salesman at the Arthur Lumber Yard for many years and most recently at Ace Hardware in Gibson City until his retirement.
