RANTOUL – Charles I. Edenburn, 87, of Rantoul died on Sunday (July 5, 2015) in his home.
He was born on May 24, 1928, in Potomac, a son of Arthur and Flossie (Larkin) Edenburn. He married Margaret Hoshauer on Feb. 16, 1947, in Potomac. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Glen (Marcy) Edenburn of Farmington and Carol Edenburn of Rantoul; a brother, James (Judy) Edenburn of Potomac; a sister, Delcena (Lawrence) Austin of Tilton; five grandchildren, John, Misty, Joanna, Brian and Brad; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and a son, Ray.
Charles was a member of the Bethany Park Christian Church where he served in almost all offices. He was a 50-plus year member of the Eastern Star and the Masons.
He worked at the Chanute Air Force Base Commissary for 30 years. He was quite fond of tropical fish and had many aquariums. He also loved to bake and cook and was known for his pecan rolls.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Bethany Park Christian Church, Rantoul. His son, Glen Edenburn, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul.
