SAN DIEGO – James K. "Jim" Revell passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1938, the son of the late John Sr. and Leah Revell. Jim was raised in Tolono, along with his brothers, John Jr. and Joe. In 1968, Jim married Judy and together they provided a loving home in San Diego for their two children.
Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country for 22 years with distinction in the U.S. Navy. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam), Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service and Vietnam Campaign Medals, and Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon.
He was a life member of the VFW, a 51-year member of Tolono Masonic Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner.
Jim was a man of true kindness and integrity. He always put others first and did so with great grace, humility and good humor.
Left to remember Jim with great love and gratitude are his wife of 46 years, Judy; daughter, Lina Chen; son, Kelly Revell and wife Andrea; grandchildren, Christopher, Thomas, Courtney, Megan and Brittany; and brothers, John Revell and wife, Lois, and Joe Revell and wife, Sandy.
A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, at Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, Calif.
