NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Herman A. Church, 95, of Noblesville, Ind., formerly of Westfield and Ambia, Ind., passed away at 4:10 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2015) in Noblesville.
Herman was born May 11, 1919, in Catlin Township to Alexander V. and Florence M. Sanford Church. Herman married Deveril Wroughton on Oct. 12, 1941, in Kankakee, officiated by Deveril's father, the Rev. Richard Wroughton. Deveril survives as well as one son, Ronald (Jean) Church of Plainfield, Ind.; one daughter, Janet (Brian) Daily of Westfield, Ind.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and twin granddaughters.
Herman was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed fishing, golfing and amateur radio operating, as well as traveling. He was a member of the Ambia United Methodist Church and Grace Church in Noblesville, where he especially enjoyed his small group and the retired men's Bible study. Herman was also a member of the Catlin Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Brian Daily, Herman's son-in-law, will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Catlin. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin.
