CHAMPAIGN – Randolph Mullen, 93, of Champaign passed from death to life at 8:30 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 28, 2014) at Helia Healthcare of Champaign.
Homegoing services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Church of the Living God, 1109 N. Fourth St., Champaign. The pastor, Bishop Lloyd Gwin, will officiate.
He will await the resurrection at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. The visitation will be at 9 a.m. at the church until the time of service.
Melker Bluitt Parker Mortuary, 704 N. Fourth St., Champaign, has been entrusted with arrangements.
Mr. Mullen was born in Grenada, Miss., on Feb. 6, 1921, to his loving parents, Randolph Mullen Sr. and Birdie Ann Fisher. He was employed at Clifford & Jacobs Forging Co. as a foreman.
He, along with his deceased wife, Mary, founded the Church of the Living God, Champaign. He was a member of Masonic Lodge AF&M and was formerly employed at Bluitt Parker Funeral Home, Champaign.
He is survived by two sons, Randolph Mullen III of Illinois and William M. (Gloria) Gillon; one sister, Eunice Mae Green of Glen Ellyn; six grandchildren, Randy Rooks, Damon Davis, Raesha Williams, Phyllis Frazier, Nathan Gillon and David (Dana) Gillon; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife, four brothers and one sister.
