Chrisman – Orville William Haworth, 90, of Chrisman went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 1, 2013, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village.
He was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Vermillion Grove to Allen and Clara (Snyder) Haworth.
Orville was a 1941 graduate of Ridge Farm High School. On July 27, 1948, he married Jenny Freese; she preceded him in death. On July 4, 1981, he married Faye (Craig) Bland; she survives.
Orville is also survived by six children, Kevin Haworth of Fithian, George (Sheila) Haworth of Ridge Farm, Gene (Lila) Bland of Bloomington, Paula (Keith) Bergfeld of Indianapolis, Ind., Richard (Carol) Bland of Hudson and Kenny (Penny) Bland of Bloomington; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin infant brothers.
Orville was a resident of Chrisman for 32 years, coming from Vermillion Grove. He was a member of the Chrisman Christian Church, serving as a deacon, elder and trustee for many years, the Ridge Farm Masonic Lodge No. 632 and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. Orville had earned his 32nd degree.
He enjoyed gardening, telling stories, woodworking, being outdoors soaking up the sun and traveling. He dearly loved every moment with his family.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Franklin Cemetery.
