LUDLOW – Dallis A. Huddleston, 79, of Ludlow died Monday (July 15, 2013) at the Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at the Ludlow Methodist Church, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 Wednesday evening at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove St., Rantoul. Burial will be in the Ludlow Cemetery.
Mr. Huddleston was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Lineville, Ala., a son of King David and Mary (Dingler) Huddleston. He married Shirley "Ann" Huck on July 9, 1954, in Cheyenne, Wyo. She survives.
He is survived by three children, Connie Jo Huddleston of Ludlow, Bruce (Nancy) Huddleston of Mount Zion and Melinda "Sam" Klaus of Mahomet.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, two brothers, a son-in-law and a granddaughter.
He retired in 1974 after 22 years in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran. He also retired in 1995 after 21 years in civil service.
Dallis was a member of the Paxton Masonic Lodge 416 and Valley of Danville Scottish Rite, and was a past commander of Ludlow American Legion 518.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Wounded Warriors Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
