Friends may greet the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Lutheran Church of Mahomet, 410 E. Andover St., Mahomet, with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Baderschneider will officiate. Final interment will be private.
Ken was born Jan. 30, 1922, in St. Louis, Mo., a son of Arthur and Mae (Frohley) Seiling. He married Marge Schlutz on Aug. 24, 1942, in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 2009.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth W. Seiling Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, and John A. Seiling of Springfield, Mo.; one grandson, Kyle J. Seiling of Durango, Colo.; and one brother-in-law, John Shultz of Springfield, Va.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Mahomet, a 40-year member of the Mahomet American Legion Post No. 1015, and a 40-year member of the Mahomet Lions Club. He was also a life member of the Mahomet Lodge No. 220 and the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of the State of Illinois. He also served on the Mahomet Plan and Zoning Board for 24 years.
Ken served in the Navy in Brazil and the South Pacific during World War II. He was retired from Kraft Foods.
Ken loved to play golf and worked at Lake of the Woods Golf Course until he was 90 years old. He also felt honored to serve in the Honor Guard of the American Legion.
