Leon Clifton - Fraternal Lodge

CISCO – Wilmer Leon Clifton, 90, of Mount Zion, formerly of Cisco, passed away at 10:14 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 12, 2013) at the Heritage Manor, Mount Zion.

Leon was born on Oct. 13, 1922, in Cisco, the son of Wilmer Clay and Vera (White) Clifton. He married Helen Louise McKinney on Oct. 17, 1948, in Cisco. She passed away on March 7, 1998.
Surviving are his son, Jeff Clifton; sister, Adaline Clifton of Reno, Nev.; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother (Jack).

Leon retired after 33 years as a welder for Caterpillar. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the ship repair unit.

He was a member of the Cisco United Methodist Church, Decatur Elks Club, Monticello Masonic Lodge 58 AF&AM, and the Craig-Reed American Legion Post 1181.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello, with the Rev. Dennis Beedy officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Croninger Cemetery, Cisco.

Memorials may be made to an organization of the donor's choice.
