John Golcynski - Russell Lodge

John Joseph Golcynski, 70, of Georgetown, passed away at 10:15pm, Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. He was born on July 9, 1942, in Danville, IL, the son of Joseph F. and Flossie {Carrington} Golcynski, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Eileen K. Guiliani on November 24, 1963, in Westville, Illinois. She will miss him dearly.

(Amy) Golcynski of Cameron, NC; his daughters, Kimberly Golcynski of St. Peters, MO, & Kristi K. (Jim) DeWitt of Hoopeston, IL; his grandchildren, Leslie (Jason) Stewart of Catlin, IL, Ryan (Laci) Chittick of Catlin, IL, Dakota (Kelly) Okler of Lacy, WA, Kyle Golcynski of St. Louis, MO, ShiAnna DeWitt of Hoopeston, IL, Kira DeWitt of Hoopeston, IL, Trenton Golcynski of Cameron, NC, & Kayden Golcynski of Cameron, NC; his great grandchildren, Brady & Parker Stewart of Catlin; his sister, Mary (Harold) Williams of Penfield, IL; his sisters-in-law, Kathy (Bill) Pitlik of Danville & Paulette (Butch) Young of Edwardsville, IL; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne (Winnie) Lewis of Georgetown & Tom Spangler of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly JO, his three sisters, Marilyn Golcynski, Jan Lewis, & Carolyn Sue Spangler, his brother-in-law, David (Lois) Guiliani.
John worked at Hyster Co. in Danville and retired in 2005 after 40 years of service. He also worked as a part time police officer for Georgetown, Westville, & Ridge Farm, as well as, an EMT for Georgetown Ambulance. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown and a member of the Georgetown Russell Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed going on fishing trips to Canada with his sons, brothers-in-law, and nephews. He donated his time to coach youth baseball & football and enjoyed assisting with his son’s sports activities through the years. He and his wife, Eileen, enjoyed traveling in his prize possession, a 1980 blue Corvette.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, October 5, 2012, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Steve Rutter officiating. A visitation will be held 4pm-8pm, Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the funeral home, with a Masonic service to be held at 5:00pm. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Alzheimer’s Association or to Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman
