He was born Jan. 29, 1921, in State Line, Ind., the son of Berkley and Mabel (Davis) Woodrum. Both are deceased.
Harlan married Helen Kerr on April 30, 1944, in Indianapolis, Ind.
Harlan is survived by one son, Dean Woodrum of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Linda (Anthony) Post of Inverness, Ill.; four grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Ruff of Willowbrook, Ill., Aaron Post of San Jose, Calif., Alison (Erik) Achramowicz of St. Joseph, Mich., and Carla Boudreau of Champaign; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Kyler Ruff of Willowbrook; one sister, Esther Hurley of Covington, Ind.; one brother, Earl Woodrum of Danville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; and siblings, Bertha Hazlett, Arthur Woodrum, Amos Woodrum, Ernest Woodrum, Russell Woodrum, Dorothy Evans, Pearl Hipsher and Neva Allen.
Harlan was an active member of Central Christian Church. He was an elder emeritus, member of the Church Foundation, member of the CoWed class and special guest of CWF, and a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Potomac Masonic Lodge.
He served in the Army Air Corps as a technical sergeant during World War II and was stationed at Stout Field in Indianapolis, where he met Helen, the love of his life. Later in life, Harlan enjoyed traveling with his wife to Florida, California, and Arizona. He owned Woodrum Electric, Swing 'n' Spring miniature golf course and the Kreme Kottage in Danville.
Harlan's son and daughter wish to extend their thanks to family, friends, Central Christian Church, the CRIS Center and his lunch group for their friendship and time spent with Dad.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, with a celebration of life service beginning at 3 p.m. Monday, July 2, at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. The Rev.
