THOMASBORO – Russell Lachenmyer, beloved husband and father, left this earth in North Western Hospital surrounded by family in Margate, Fla., on April 21, 2012.
He was born Aug. 7, 1938, a son of Ruth Little Lachenmyer and Lamar B. Lachenmyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Lachenmyer; and a half sister, Lavern Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carrall; his son, Jeffery (Terrie) Lachenmyer; daughter, Deborah (Tim) Lachenmyer; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Duane) Smith and Megan; four grandsons, Tom Lachenmyer, Mike Lachenmyer, Russell Thomas Lachenmyer and Stephen Lachenmyer; a sister, Karen Woodmansee; and a half brother, Gene Lachenmyer. Also surviving is a great-granddaughter, Jordan Smith.
Russ farmed the Thomasboro area, had rental properties, businesses and retired from J.B. Hunt Co.
He was a member of the Shriners, Elks, Moose and the Masonic Lodge.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, with a memorial service starting at 3 p.m., at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul. Burial of ashes will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul.
Memorials may be made to the Thomasboro Fire Department.
