HOOPESTON – Richard L. Cox, 73, of Hoopeston died at 10:12 a.m. Sunday (May 20, 2012) at the Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 15, 1938, at Hoopeston, he was the son of Arlo J. and Helen A. (Bostwick) Cox.
He is survived by one brother, Arlo (Kay) Cox of Hoopeston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerry Cox and Jack Cox; and one sister, Joanne (Cox) Melser.
Richard had worked in the home insulation business and had also worked at the Schumacher Factory in Hoopeston.
He was a member of the Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the North Fork Conservation Club in Hoopeston. He was also a member of Star Lodge No. 709 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge of Hoopeston.
Funeral services for Mr. Cox will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at the Chestnut Street Church of Christ, 709 E. Chestnut St., Hoopeston. The services will be officiated by Pastors Sid Payne and Ken Bostwick. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery at Hoopeston, where Masonic Rites will be conducted by Star Lodge No. 709. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Chestnut Street Church of Christ or to the Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home.
