Carl Bozarth - Tuscola Lodge

LONG CREEK – Carl W. Bozarth, 73, of Long Creek passed away Saturday (May 5, 2012) in Decatur.
A service to celebrate Carl's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mount Zion. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Masonic Rites service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Tuscola Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mount Zion Presbyterian Church or Mount Zion Library.
Mr. Bozarth was born June 14, 1938, in McLeansboro, the son of W.A. and Edith C. (Mangis) Bozarth. He completed business courses at Illinois Commercial College in Champaign.
Carl served proudly in Germany with the U.S. Army.
Carl retired from the University of Illinois in Champaign and previously worked at Wagner Castings in Decatur. He was a member of Mount Zion Presbyterian Church, where he served as deacon for seven years and performed with the chancel choir. He was a member of the Tuscola Masonic Lodge No. 332, South Macon Masonic Lodge No. 467, Zohak Grotto, where he previously served as Monarch, Scottish Rites of Springfield and the Decatur Genealogical Society. He served on the Mount Zion Library Board and volunteered through DOVE at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
Carl married Sharon L. Littleton on Aug. 20, 1966. She preceded him in death on Feb. 17, 2008.
Surviving are his children, Edith A. Perry of Fort Worth, Texas, John W. (Jennifer) Bozarth of Chatham and Jack E. Bozarth of Decatur; sister, Nita R. (Rex) Bridges of Seymour, Ind.; brothers, John L. (Susan) Bozarth of Panama City Beach, Fla., David M. (Cheryl) Bozarth of Tuscola; brother-in-law, Alan L. Stahl of Peoria; and three grandchildren, Stephen Perry, Audrey and Anderson Bozarth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Joyce Stahl.
