Albert Mohr - Tolono

Albert Mohr

TOLONO – Albert Mohr, 80, born in Mahomet on Dec. 17, 1931, passed away at 4 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 22, 2012).
Al attended Urbana High School and had lived in Tolono for 59 years.
Left with special memories of him are Betsy Mohr, his companion of 33 years; his twin sister, Alberta Watson of Urbana; his four children, Ronnie of Sadorus, Allen of Philo, Philip of Seymour and Mary (Jeanie) Noll of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Barbara Kingery, his wife of 26 years.
Also surviving are Paula Mosely, Jimmy Mosely, Tom Mosely, Charlie Mosely and Cathy Cates, as well as 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Al was commander of the VFW Post 1237 in Tolono 13 times, a member of VFW Post 5520 and Grand Master of the Tolono Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Virgil Mohr, and his brother Carl.
Al worked for Texaco, Curry Case and retired from the Illinois Central Railroad. He also owned Mohr Garage. He was a Chicago Bears fan.
For those who wish, in lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests that memorials be made to either the Veterans' War Memorial of Tolono or American Lung Association.
A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Freese Funeral Home, Tolono, is assisting with arrangements.
