William Dunn

CHAMPAIGN – William E. Dunn 61, of Champaign passed away suddenly at 5:35 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 31, 2011) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born on April 13, 1950, in Chicago to Otis and Lucille Peters Dunn.
He married Sandra Dronen on May 19, 1979, in Champaign and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Nathaniel (Sarah) Dunn of Champaign; one daughter, Sarah (Jonathan) Gray of Camargo; and seven grandchildren, William Gray, Mike Gray, Leah Gray, Benjamin Gray, all of Camargo, and Rosalyn Dunn, Justin Dunn and Grace Dunn, all of Champaign; and four nephews, Charles, Clayton, Todd and Trevor Dunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Otis.
He was a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois, retiring after 32 years.
He was a Shriner and a 7th degree Mason and was also a member at the 1st Baptist Church of Champaign in Savoy.
Memorial services for Mr. Dunn will be held at the 1st Baptist Church of Champaign in Savoy at a later date with interment to take place at Oakhill Cemetery in Oakwood.
Arrangements are being completed by the Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy.
