Russell Ingrum - Arcola

ARCOLA – Russell Ray Ingrum, 75, of Arcola passed away at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 18, 2011) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at the United Methodist Church, 121 S. Locust St. in Arcola. The Rev. Vince Rohn will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Edwards Funeral Home, 221 E. Main St. in Arcola. Masonic rites will be conducted at 5:45 p.m. Sunday by the Arcola Masonic Lodge 366 AF and AM.
Russell was born on Dec. 4, 1935, in Tuscola. He was a son of Hubert and Edith Margaret (Durnil) Ingrum. He married Harriet Elaine Miller on Dec. 7, 1958.
Russell is survived by his wife, Harriet Ingrum of Arcola; two daughters, Abby Lynn Ingrum of Urbana and Angela Jo Kennedy and her husband Patrick of Cary; one granddaughter, Monica Autumn Kennedy of Cary; one brother, Roger Ingrum and his wife Patricia of New Concord, Ky.; and three sisters, Mildred Childress of Alden, Minn., Ethel Needham of Denver, Colo., and Mary Olehy of Crawfordsville, Ind.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe Ingrum and Lawrence Ingrum; three sisters, Maxine Ingrum, Vera Hussong and Fern Emberton; one step-brother, Dale Utsler; and one stepsister, Nora Utsler.
Russell had worked at USI in Tuscola and later for his father-in-law, Clarence Miller, at Miller's Service Station in Arcola. He operated Miller Oil Bulk Gas Plant, and most recently, he worked at the Arcola True Value for over 20 years, retiring in 2010.
Russell was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church, The World Famous Lawn Rangers, Arcola Lions Club and the Arcola Masonic Lodge. He served on the Arcola City Zoning Board and was an Arcola Township Cemetery trustee for many years.
Russ was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. His heart touched so many people and brought great happiness to all. He was a people person and a man who loved everyone. He will be dearly missed by all.
Memorials may be made to the Arcola United Methodist Church, the Arcola Lions Club or the Julie Arthur Memorial Scholarship Fund
