Ron W. MulvaneyBEMENT – Ron W. Mulvaney, 51, of Bement passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 22, 2011) at his daughter's residence in Normal.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the First Presbyterian Church, 249 N. Macon St., Bement. The Rev. Marsha Frederick will officiate. Burial will be in the Bement Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, also at the First Presbyterian Church, Bement. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ron Mulvaney memorial fund in care of Roux-Hinds Funeral Home or the American Cancer Society.
Ron was born on Jan. 26, 1960, in Monticello, a son of Richard W. and Georgia Chrisman Mulvaney. He married Dianne L. "Dee" McHenry on Sept. 1, 1978, in Monticello, and she passed away on April 12, 2008.
Surviving children include Ryan W. (Micah) Mulvaney of Bement and Heather L. (Cory) McNicol of Normal. Surviving grandchildren include Carter McNicol, Carson McNicol and Eli Mulvaney. Ron is also survived by his mother, Georgia Mulvaney of Bement, a brother, Richard E. (Diane) Mulvaney of Collison, and a sister, Mary Lou Mulvaney of Bement. He was preceded in death by his father and wife.
Ron was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bement. Ron worked for many years for several small factories which include International Harvester of Bement, Sterling Drug, ADM Mechanical, Bodine Electric, Kraft Foods, Cimco, Bill Abbott, Con Air Corp., and then back to Cimco in Bement. Ron was a vice chairman of the First Christian Church of Bement, Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church, Bement, Bement Township Supervisor and a member of the Bement Lion's Club, Bement Masonic Lodge 365, the Bement Village Board and the Bement Community School Board. Ron's family said that he was a great father, grandfather and friend and always put everyone else's needs in front of his own.
Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement, has been entrusted with the family's loved one for Ron's services
