Shriner Makes history in Illinois Shrine All-Star Football Game

Darth Winkler is looking to make an impact. First, the West linebacker will make history tonight in the Illinois Coaches Association Shrine All-Star Football Game at Peoria Stadium.

The 18-year-old Winkler will become the first Shriner to play in the 37th annual game when it kicks off at 6:30. The recent Lewistown High School graduate joined the organization a month ago.

“With how much they (Shriners) do for children and in the community, especially with the hospitals, being able to be a part of it and help push kids in the right direction is something I’m looking forward to,” Winkler said.
