WESTVILLE — Robert Lyle “Bob” Bolser Sr., 81, of Westville passed away at 10:55 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman.
He was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Danville, the son of Elbert and Opal Cox Bolser. Bob married Winifred James on Feb. 25, 1954, in Danville; she preceded him on Dec. 24, 1999.
Surviving are one son, Robert Lyle “Bob” (Christine) Bolser Jr. of Westville, and a grandson, Bryan Bolser of Westville. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Tom, Ted and Ron; and two sisters, Helen Askins and Marge Slinker.
Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Tee-Pak in Danville after 28 years of service. Bob was a member of the Westville American Legion Post 51 and a 32nd Degree Mason with the Catlin Masonic Lodge.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, a Life Celebration Home, with Raymie Gordon officiating. A Masonic service will be at 1:30 p.m. prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville with military honors by the Westville American Legion Post 51.
