BEMENT – William Howard Lamb, 95, of Bement passed away at 5:40 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 19, 2011) at the Heartland Health Care Center, Decatur.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Bement Township Cemetery. Pastor Mark Smith will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bement United Methodist Church or the Piatt County Humane Society.
Howard was born on Aug. 16, 1915, in Bement, a son of Frank and Beulah McLaughlin Lamb. He married Elizabeth Grove in 1939 and she passed away in 1959. He later married Martha Kilton on April 13, 1961, in Monticello; she survives in Bement.
Also surviving are one son, James W. Lamb of Colorado, and two grandchildren, Jamie Lamb and Amanda Genti.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and a brother, Paul Lamb.
As a farmer, Howard farmed around the Bement area for all of his life. He was a member of the Bement United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Bement Masonic Lodge 365, Bement School Board, the Piatt County Board of Supervisors and was a drainage commissioner of District 3.
Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement, has been entrusted with the family's loved one for Howard's services.
