Jack Dodd - Ogden Lodge
JACKIE P. ‘JACK’ DODD
SIDELL — Jackie P. “Jack” Dodd, 75, well-known Sidell resident and former grain elevator manager, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Provena Covenant in Urbana.
He was born June 26, 1934, in Homer to Wilbur and Berniece Gurnea Dodd. Jackie married Sara Hanks on Aug. 5, 1956, at the Sidell United Methodist Church. Sara survives, as well as two brothers, Ronald R. Dodd of Urbana and Byron W. (Carolyn) Dodd of Homer.
Jackie served in the United States Army, was manager of the Sidell Grain Elevator for 17 years, and Homer Grain Elevator, Allerton Division, for 25 years. Jackie was a member of the Illinois Harness Horseman Association, charter member of the National Bird Hunters Association, and past president of Sidell Lions Club. He had been a Mason for 30 years, and currently belonged to the Ogden Masonic Lodge 754. He was a proud Illini and Salt Fork Storm fan. He attended the Homer and Sidell United Methodist churches.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Robison Chapel in Catlin; burial in the G.A.R. Cemetery at Homer. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Memorials to the Jackie Dodd Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund in care of Robison Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.robisonchapel.com.
